Thieves Steal Apple Products, Cash, Jewelry in Glen Rock Burglaries

Glen Rock police are asking anyone with information related to several home and vehicle burglaries to contact detectives.

Laptops, iPods, iPads, purses, jewelry and cash are among the items stolen from homes and vehicles in Glen Rock in the last few weeks, according to police reports.

Glen Rock police reported that on Sept. 27 patrol responded to a home burglary on Buckingham Place. The thief entered through a rear door and grabbed cash and jewelry. Some evidence was taken at the scene and detectives are continuing to investigate the incident.

Three days later, police were summoned to a house on Valley Road where burglars made entry and left with a gold watch and an Apple laptop.

As is the case in neighboring Ridgewood, home burglaries were not the only property thefts reported in recent weeks.

Glen Rock police say Grandview Avenue saw a flurry of burglary activity to vehicles over a two-day period in early October.

According to police, on Oct. 1 a Grandview Avenue resident found someone grabbed cash from his unlocked vehicle. On the same day, another resident on Grandview reported to police her side window was smashed and the burglar took an iPad, a laptop, a purse and some other items.

The following day another Grandview Avenue resident said his unlocked vehicle was entered and cash as well as an iPod were snatched.

If anyone has any information related to the various burglaries, they're urged to call the GRPD Detective Bureau at 201-670-3947 or 201-670-3948.

Now for the good news.....The PSE&G trucks and crews, which our local PD seem to be parked next to far too often, are safe and sound. Just yesterday afternoon while going from Ridgewood to Hawthorne, I passed two local PD cars parked at construction sites once again....... while we read almost daily about burglaries.

Phew! When I read "Apple products" I thought they stole an apple pie! That would have been horrible!

Well, when we go to a store, the door is open, so I guess the burglars just assume that an unlocked door is an invitation? People -- LOCK YOUR DOORS!!
