Council to Vote on $30K in Parking Meters

Will consider use of kiosks, other mechanisms at future meeting.

The Ridgewood Village Council will be voting to approve a $30,000 bid to replace a number of street parking meters. It raised a persisting question – what kind of meters should be featured in the downtown?

In the past, several council members have lobbied to explore alternate forms of payment. The quarters are cumbersome, old and an overall annoyance for shoppers, they've argued. Others have said kiosks break often and argue people prefer quarters to the alternatives.

The council will talk about meter types at an upcoming meeting, Mayor Paul Aronsohn said.
