Special Olympian Training in Ridgewood

Tennis player will represent NJ in the USA Games, happening later this month, report says.

A 31-year-old athlete from Allendale is prepping for the Special Olympics at a Ridgewood training facility.

According to a my9nj.com report, Katie Eidschun plans to compete in tennis events at the Special Olympic Games, happening from June 14-21.

Eidschun will represent the Garden State at the 2014 USA National Games, happening in Mercer County, the report said.

The athlete, who trains at the Ridgewood Racquet Club, told My9 that she is confident that she can win a gold medal.
