Dave Fleischman, Neighbor

My name is David Fleischman. I was born and raised in Bayonne, New Jersey. Grew up with a passion for all sports, mainly baseball and basketball which are the two sports I played growing up. During high school I played basketball all 4 years (1 with the freshman team, 1 with junior varsity, and 2 on varsity). My freshman year we won the County Championship and my junior year, first year on varsity, we won the County Championship.  I played freshman baseball, but was cut from junior varsity my sophomore year and did not try out again. I graduated high school in 2004 and then went on to attend New Jersey City University. In November of 2004 I had shoulder surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff. The following year I tried out for the NJCU baseball team and made it as a walk on. I played 3 years of college baseball for NJCU, which turned out to be some of the best times of my life. I graduated from NJCU in May of 2009 with a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice. I now work as a substitute teacher in the Bayonne school system as well as writing for the Ridgewood patch. That pretty much sums up my life in a nut shell. I hope you all enjoy my articles.
